High Enthusiasm Marks the First Open House of Global Indonesia School (GIS-2) Sepatan Tangerang.
Sepatan, April 11, 2026 — The First Open House of Global Indonesia School (GIS-2) Sepatan drew more than 300 parents and prospective students on Saturday, signaling strong community interest in the region’s first international-standard school.
The lively event, hosted by Sherine, Oline, and Andrea, was met with warm reception from attendees. For years, families in Sepatan have had to send their children to Tangerang, Karawaci, or BSD City to access international education. The establishment of GIS-2 is widely regarded as a breakthrough, offering quality schooling closer to home.
School Principal Robert Bala, M.A., Dipl., a graduate of the University of Salamanca, Spain, opened the program with a presentation outlining the institution’s vision, mission, and curriculum. Mr. RB emphasized a balanced approach that integrates academics, character development, and twenty-first-century skills. He also introduced the school’s motto, Sal Mundi in Vita (“Salt of the World”), underscoring its commitment to inclusivity by welcoming students from diverse religious backgrounds.
Parents were further engaged in a seminar titled The Golden Age, delivered by Ms. Ruth Fitavera, S.Psi., M.Pd., which examined the critical role of family support during early childhood development. Meanwhile, children participated enthusiastically in activities such as a Spelling Bee, a Mini Speaking Class, and a Coloring Competition involving around 60 kindergarten and elementary students.
Attendees also toured the school’s facilities, which include Smart TVs, laptops, and interactive boards in every classroom. Many parents expressed admiration for the modern infrastructure, noting that it provides interactive learning opportunities without requiring families to travel far.
The event concluded at noon with the announcement of competition winners and a spirited flash mob performance of the song Maumere, led by Ms. Dila. The festive atmosphere was further enriched by the participation of students from GIS1-Serang and Bintang Nusantara Vocational High School, strengthening ties among educational institutions.
Organizing Committee Chair Mr. Gabby Guna Kabelen stated that the success of the First Open House reflects GIS-2 Sepatan’s commitment to advancing international-standard education and contributing to the broader development of the Sepatan community.
